The Sennheiser MKE 600 condenser shotgun microphone is designed to brave the most demanding filming situations. It has a high directional sensitivity, which makes it pick up sound from the direction in which the microphone is pointing and effectively attenuate sounds from the side and back. Therefore sound sources that are further away will also be picked up as if the sound source is nearby the microphone.
